Intel® Core™ Ultra Processor for U/H-series Platforms—Is this the beginning of the AI PC?

Image
Intel Corporation launched its Core™ Ultra, formerly Meteor Lake, line of mobile processors, a mix of H-series and U-series parts, and the beginning of what the company is referring to as the "AI PC." The majority launched in December, while a few models are expected to launch during the first three months of 2024. The chips are Intel's first consumer processors running on its Intel 4 node, using the company's Foveros 3D hybrid architecture. They will also be the first line of Intel processors using Neural Processing Unit or NPUs. Intel believes that the NPU will further bring about the age of the "AI PC." But Apple, Qualcomm, and AMD each have versions, so only time will tell if that belief is true. The launch of Intel's tile-based Meteor Lake System on Chip (SoC) marks the first step in a series of power-efficient and AI-focused chips on Intel 4 for the mobile market, which is ultimately created to satisfy the growing need to utilize AI inferencing...

Intel reveals Processors with System on Chip tiled Architecture for AI, Gaming and Video Laptops

Image
Intel announced their upcoming 14th-Gen Meteor Lake CPUs. Intel has demonstrated an architecture design with on-die similar to Apple’s new M1 and M2 chips. Intel’s advancements on Meteor Lake will play a key role in making these new CPUs uniquely different from older ones, especially if they implement this new CPU architecture design. The chip design was shown off in a demonstration, but Intel did not reveal if this was an entry-level i3 or flagship i9 processor. Still, the architectural design displayed by Intel on this Meteor Lake CPU indicates a drastic change that directly affects how the computer's processor would operate. Intel Releases Meteor Lake as Intel Core Ultra Processor The Meteor Lake CPU design features an on-die design called the 3D Foveros Base Die and t he  CPU Tile is Intel 4.   Intel articulates die disaggregation technique as a ‘tiled’ architecture, whereas the rest of the industry refers to this as a chiplet architecture.   The new Intel 4 process p...
